Here's Braden's 2 year old pictures that we took today. Pretty cute, it was hard to choose which ones to get.

Memorial Day Baseball

Braden's baseball skills have steadily been improving. He started with me holding a basketball and him swinging at that with his wiffle bat. Needless to say after a few mishaps, we were off to buy a tee. Dad modified the tee to fit his height and that was all she wrote. It was line drive after line drive (in the house and out). Grammy and Grampy Bartley can attest to this. Then I started underhand pitching to him and guess what...he can hit the ball. In fact, he can hit a line drive pretty consistently. So here's a clip from Memorial Day 2009, a sunny day in Seattle of Braden hitting the baseball AND dropping (well mostly throwing) the bat and running to "first base."
After baseball, we settled down for a little bit of singing. He particularly likes ABC's, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Sunshine on My Shouldler. Little brother Campbell inutero decided he wanted to participate as well. This was really the first time I could see him kicking from the outside. I've been feeling him move since I was about 15 weeks along. I'll be 23 weeks tommorrow.
Dad's been busy refinishing the front deck and putting a railing on the back steps so we don't have any head trauma incidents and visits to the ER. Braden loves playing with Darwin and Chewy and going through the doggy door. There's not much in our backyard for him (or the dogs) to get into so its kindof nice he has his own area to play in and Darwin loves it too. They are definately buddies. Braden says "drop," Darwin drops the ball, then Braden kicks it, and Darwin fetches it. Great for developing the soccer skills as well. ;)

Crawls out of crib

Yes, it finally happened. Braden finally crawled out of the crib this morning. I really thought it was going to happen 6 months ago as he's been putting his leg over the side for quite a while and he's pretty coordinated. I think his cautious nature kept him from taking the plunge sooner. Daddy will really want to put him in a big boy bed now. Check out the video.

It has begun!

I've been thinking for a while..."a baby book just isn't enough anymore. I must have a blog, along with my facebook, cell phone, and email accounts. We don't have an iphone yet, but something tells me its not too far around the corner. And by the way who writes on paper anymore? My children will say Mom why didn't you have a blog? So and so's Mom did a blog." So, here it is the first official blog of my family and our life. I will try to figure out how to post pictures and keep it current. Enjoy Camp Campbell!
